Demand for Hazelnuts has risen in the past couple years, with large companies needing an enormous amount of nuts produced each year for global markets. Earthgen in association with multiple research institutions and organizations have been researching into creating a Hazelnut industry in Ontario; A new specialty crop for farmers to grow with higher profitability than traditional cash crops.
